T-shaped reducer profiles for tile, parquet, stone and laminate transitions.
T-profiles are the unsung workhorses of finishing. Every time you transition from one floor material to another — tile to parquet at a kitchen entrance, tile to stone at a courtyard door, parquet to laminate between rooms — a T-profile bridges the gap, hides the joint, and prevents either material from chipping. Ryan's stocks aluminium T-profiles in 25mm and 40mm widths, five anodised finishes, all 2.5m lengths.
Standard for residential same-level transitions — tile to parquet, parquet to laminate, etc.
Wider profile for commercial entrances and wide floor gaps (5-15mm).
Some profiles ship with peel-and-stick adhesive base for fast retrofit installation.
For permanent installation in high-traffic areas, screw-down T-profiles with concealed fixing holes.
Measure the gap between the two floor materials. For gaps up to 5mm, use 25mm width. For 5-15mm gaps (typical between hard floors), use 40mm. For gaps over 15mm, you likely need a custom transition strip — bring measurements to the showroom.
Self-adhesive is faster (5-minute install per metre) and works for low-traffic residential. Screw-down is required for commercial floors and any location with heavy rolling traffic (chairs on wheels, trolleys). Both are stocked.
Standard T-profiles assume both floors at the same level. For different heights you need a reducer profile (ramp shape) — ask for our 'reducer T' which steps down up to 10mm. Beyond 10mm difference, use an L-profile + stair nosing combo.
We stock 2.5m lengths. Cut-to-length is free in store (any length under 2.5m). For longer runs, splice two profiles with a hidden joiner — also stocked. Cuts are made with our chop saw for precision.
