Aluminium Profiles

Lightweight anodised aluminium for tile edges, stair nosings, trims and transitions.

Anodised aluminium profiles are the most popular finishing choice for modern Syrian interiors — lighter than stainless steel, cleaner to cut on site, and available in a wider range of colours. Ryan's Damascus warehouse stocks edge profiles, T-profiles, stair nosings, corner trims and tile transitions in five anodised finishes (silver, champagne, bronze, matte black and brushed gold) in standard 2.5m lengths. We import direct from leading Turkish mills, which keeps prices competitive even for single-piece purchases. Trade customers can join Ryan's Hub for volume pricing tiers, project quotes and same-day Damascus delivery.

What sets this range apart

T-profiles for floor transitions

Reducer T-profiles for parquet-to-tile, tile-to-stone and threshold transitions.

Aluminium is the workhorse of finishing trim in Syria. It costs roughly 40-60% less than equivalent stainless steel profiles, weighs about a third as much, and can be cut with the same mitre saw a tiler already owns. The trade-off is a softer surface that dents under hard impact — which is why we recommend stainless for high-traffic commercial floors and aluminium for residential interiors, ceilings, kitchens and stair edges. Anodising adds a hard surface oxide layer that resists corrosion and colour fade indoors, and the colour palette is much wider than stainless steel: silver, champagne, bronze, matte black, brushed gold and rose gold are all available from stock or on 2-3 week reorder.

Frequently asked questions

Will aluminium profiles oxidise or corrode in Syria's climate?

All profiles we stock are anodised — a controlled oxidation process that creates a hard, sealed surface roughly 25 microns thick. Anodised aluminium will not corrode in normal indoor use anywhere in Syria, including bathrooms and kitchens. For coastal exterior use (Latakia, Tartus) we recommend the heavier anodised grade — ask for our marine spec.

Aluminium vs stainless steel — which should I choose?

Aluminium for: budget projects, residential interiors, ceilings, stair edges, LED housings, and any project where weight matters. Stainless for: commercial high-traffic floors, exterior coastal use, and where impact resistance is critical. The look is similar from 2m+ distance; up close stainless has more depth in mirror finishes and is harder to scratch. For most homes, anodised aluminium is the right call — and 40-60% cheaper.

Can I use aluminium profiles for floor-to-wall transitions?

Yes. We stock T-profiles (T-shaped reducers) and L-profiles specifically for floor transitions between tile, parquet, stone and laminate. The T-profile is the standard choice for level transitions; the L-profile is used where one surface sits higher than the other.

Do you stock anti-slip stair nosings?

Yes — anodised aluminium stair nosings with rubber friction insert are stocked in silver, black and bronze. We have standard 25mm and 40mm nose depths, both in 2.5m lengths. For wider stairs we can join two lengths with a hidden splice — ask in store.

What's the lead time if my colour is out of stock?

Re-order from our Turkish supplier takes 2-3 weeks for normal anodised colours and 3-4 weeks for brushed gold or rose gold (smaller anodising runs). Trade customers can pre-reserve via Ryan's Hub to skip the queue when stock arrives.

Can aluminium profiles be painted or refinished later?

Anodised aluminium accepts paint with a specialist primer (aluminium-bonding etch primer), but we strongly recommend choosing the right anodised colour from stock instead — the factory anodised finish lasts indefinitely indoors, where paint will chip over time.

What widths do you stock?

Standard widths are 8mm, 10mm and 12mm for tile-edge profiles (matched to tile thickness). T-profiles come in 25mm and 40mm widths. Stair nosings are 25mm or 40mm nose depth. Custom widths can be sourced — minimum order applies.

Can I get a sample piece before ordering a large quantity?

Yes — we keep 10cm sample pieces of every stocked finish at the Damascus showroom. Drop in or call ahead and we'll have samples ready. For project specifiers we can also send sample packs by courier.

Do you deliver outside Damascus?

Yes — nationwide delivery across Syria via our regular weekly routes to Aleppo, Latakia, Homs, Hama, Tartus and Daraa. Lead time is typically 2-4 days depending on city. Trade customers can track shipments via Ryan's Hub.

What's the warranty?

Manufacturer warranty on anodised finish is 10 years for indoor use against pitting and fade. We honour any factory defect by free replacement. Installation damage is not covered — but our team can advise on best installation practices for any profile we sell.
