L-profiles, quarter-rounds and square edges for clean tile edges.
Tile edge trim protects the vulnerable exposed edge of tile work — preventing chips, sealing the gap between tile and wall, and giving a clean architectural line. Ryan's stocks aluminium L-profiles, quarter-rounds, square edges and bullnose profiles in five anodised finishes, sized to match 8mm, 10mm and 12mm tile thicknesses.
Classic L-shape covers tile edge — chosen for ~80% of residential tile-edge work.
Soft curved profile for child-friendly edges and traditional looks.
Modern angular profile — most popular for contemporary minimalist projects.
Wide curved edge for pool surrounds, steps and curved details.
L-profile is the safest default and works with any tile. Square edge is best for modern minimalist looks. Quarter-round is recommended for family homes with young children. Bullnose is for curved features or pool edges.
Match the profile height (8mm, 10mm or 12mm) to your tile thickness — measure your tile thickness with calipers. The profile sits flush with the tile surface; an oversized profile will leave a raised lip that catches feet and fingers.
Trim is installed during tiling — the bottom flange sits under the tile, embedded in the tile adhesive. Retrofit is possible with surface-mount profiles but the line is less clean.
Yes — profiles can be mitre-cut at 45° for inside or outside corners. For complex layouts we stock matching corner pieces in silver and black that snap into place.
